Electrical equipment’s safety operation is related to electricity safety, the precautionary test regulations for power equipment clearly set out the test content and cycle of various types of power equipment, try to avoid the occurrence of power failures as much as possible.

Generator is the "heart" of the power system. Whether it can run safely will directly affect the stability of the power system and the quality of electrical energy. The mechanical structure of the generator is complex, and there are huge auxiliaries, so that any component of generator’s failure shall cause the entire system stop.

1. Generator
1) Measurement of stator winding insulation resistance and absorption ratio
2) Measurement of DC resistance of stator winding
3) Stator winding leakage current and DC withstand voltage test
Stator winding AC withstand voltage test
Measurement of insulation resistance of rotor windings
DC resistance of rotor winding
Insulation resistance of equipment connected to the excitation circuit of the generator and exciter
Generator bearing seat insulation resistance
Shaft voltage
No-load characteristic test, short-circuit test
2. Excitation system
De-excitation resistance, waveform output, input / output operation check
3. High-voltage switchgear
Loop resistance, insulation resistance, circuit breaker switching characteristics, etc.
4. Exciting transformer
AC withstand voltage test, DC resistance, transformation ratio, etc.
5. High voltage cable
AC withstand voltage and insulation resistance of generator outlet and connection line incoming line
6. Protective device
Relay protection test for differential, backup, rotor grounding, etc.
7. Synchronizing device
Pseudo synchronous test
8. Interlock test
The above tests can be carried out simultaneously or partly according to the operating situation.
